Real-money competitions are available only where Duel has enabled them. This page is generated from the same configuration the platform enforces, so the list below is always what the server actually allows.
1. Where real-money competitions are available
Duel currently enables real-money competitions only for players physically located in the United States, and only in the following 38 jurisdictions:
- Alabama
- Alaska
- California
- Colorado
- Florida
- Georgia
- Hawaii
- Idaho
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Iowa
- Kansas
- Maryland
- Massachusetts
- Minnesota
- Mississippi
- Missouri
- Nebraska
- New Hampshire
- New Jersey
- New Mexico
- New York
- North Carolina
- North Dakota
- Ohio
- Oklahoma
- Oregon
- Pennsylvania
- Rhode Island
- South Carolina
- Texas
- Utah
- Vermont
- Virginia
- Washington
- West Virginia
- Wisconsin
- Wyoming
Every other US state and territory, and every country outside the United States, is not enabled for real-money play. This list can change at any time.
2. What remains available elsewhere
- Free practice play is available regardless of jurisdiction availability.
- Withdrawal of an existing available balance is not blocked because real-money entry became unavailable where you are.
- Access to your account, transaction history and support is unaffected.
3. How eligibility is determined
- Eligibility is decided server-side. The browser only displays the result.
- Location is resolved server-side from your network connection; where your residence has been verified, that verified state is used instead of an inaccurate provider lookup.
- Device coordinates are used briefly for verification; the audit record stores the resolved state and accuracy rather than the coordinates.
- Your IP address is stored only as a salted hash, together with the resolved country, region and the decision.
- A check is recorded shortly after sign-in and re-evaluated before a real-money action such as a deposit or a paid entry.
- Checks expire, so a stale result is not reused indefinitely.
- The residence recorded on your account is compared with the resolved location; a conflict pauses real-money actions.
4. When location cannot be confirmed
The system fails closed. If the country or region cannot be resolved, or the connection appears to be anonymised, real-money actions are paused rather than allowed. You will see a message explaining that the location could not be confirmed; it is not an accusation of wrongdoing.
5. Prohibited circumvention
- Do not use a VPN, proxy, relay, remote desktop or similar service to appear to be in an enabled jurisdiction.
- Do not spoof or simulate device or network location.
- Do not provide a false residence on your account.
- Do not use another person's account or device to access real-money play.
Circumvention may result in paused real-money functionality, restriction or closure of the account, and review of affected competitions.
6. Changes to availability
Duel may add, suspend or remove a jurisdiction at any time, including in response to legal advice, regulatory change or provider requirements. Where availability is withdrawn in your location, real-money entry stops but your balance remains yours to withdraw.
Duel offers paid competitions only where it believes skill-based competitions are permitted, and updates this list as laws change. It is your responsibility to comply with the laws where you are located.
