Duel only works if every competition is decided by how well each player actually plays. This policy sets out what is prohibited, how violations are detected, and what happens when one is found.

1. Prohibited conduct

  • Bots, macros, scripts, auto-clickers or any automated play.
  • Modified, repackaged, emulated or unofficial clients.
  • Injecting into, reading from or altering game memory or game state.
  • Forging, replaying, editing or reusing scores or run data.
  • Exploiting bugs, defects or unintended behaviour instead of reporting them.
  • Collusion, coordinated results, or agreeing an outcome with an opponent.
  • Intentionally losing to move value to another account.
  • Multiple accounts, shared accounts, or playing on someone else's account.
  • Manipulating latency, packet loss or connection state to influence a result.
  • Interfering with an opponent's ability to play.
  • Probing, disabling or circumventing integrity, anti-cheat or jurisdiction controls.
  • Abusing the dispute process with knowingly false reports.

2. How integrity is enforced

Duel is built so that the client is never the authority on a result:

  • Round seeds are issued by the server, and both players play the same seed.
  • Game simulation is separated from rendering, so a round can be re-evaluated from its recorded inputs.
  • Submitted runs, timestamps, round history and settlement are recorded server-side and are append-only.
  • Start times, deadlines, ready state and round advancement are enforced by the server, not the browser.
  • Balances, holds and settlement run in atomic server-side operations, so a client cannot create or move funds.
  • Every cash run is replayed on the server from its recorded inputs; the score your device reports is never trusted.
  • Runs are checked for impossible timing, sped-up game clocks, tampered input order, inhuman tap rates and machine-perfect rhythm.
  • Accounts sharing devices or repeatedly playing each other are reviewed for collusion.
  • A flagged match is held for review and does not pay out until it is resolved.
  • Integrity events are logged for review.

Duel does not install kernel-level or system-level anti-cheat software on your device.

Automated checks can flag activity for review, but penalties are decided by a person who reviews the evidence.

3. Consequences

Where Duel identifies or reasonably suspects a violation, it may take one or more of the following steps, proportionate to what was found:

  • warn the account holder
  • void or re-run the affected competition and release its holds
  • reverse a settlement that resulted from a violation
  • suspend real-money functionality while the review is open
  • restrict features, limit entry, or close the account
  • decline to process a disputed payout while an investigation is open, where legally permitted

Winnings obtained through a violation may be cancelled and returned to the harmed players. Deposits of your own lawfully obtained funds are not forfeited and are returned, less amounts owed to Duel, if your account is closed.

4. Reporting a violation

Report suspected cheating from the match screen, or email support@getduel.app within 7 days of the competition with the match details and what you observed. Reports are reviewed against the server-side record. Duel does not disclose another player's account information in response to a report.

5. Appeals

If your account is restricted or a competition is voided, you may request a review by emailing support@getduel.app. Duel aims to acknowledge the request, re-examine the recorded evidence, and explain the outcome to the extent it can without exposing detection methods or another player's information.

6. Reporting bugs and vulnerabilities

If you find a defect that affects competition fairness, balances or account security, report it to support@getduel.app rather than using it. Do not test against other players' accounts or data, and do not attempt to degrade the service.
